For One Direction megastar Harry Styles, being ambushed by the paparazzi is the story of his life.

But the 21-year-old seems to have found the perfect retreat near Preston to escape the batteries of cameras and the hordes of screaming fans.

Harry popped into his
favourite San Marco
restaurant in Much Hoole at the weekend for a relaxed lunch with friends before heading back to the Far East to continue the band’s hectic On The Road Again tour.

“Yes, Harry was here on Friday,” confirmed a member of the San Marco staff. “He’s been here three or four times and he is always treated just like any other customer.

“Everyone knows who he is. He might be a famous young man, but no-one bothers him.

“A couple of diners took photos, but he knows we respect his privacy here.” Harry and his fellow band members have been on a 10-day break from an exhausting world tour.

They flew into the UK from Japan last week and will resume their 80-concert schedule in Singapore tomorrow night. Two phone shots of the former X-Factor star were published on social media within hours of his visit to San Marco.

Just who the blonde female is at his side remains a mystery.

Harry, famous for dating a string of celebrity beauties, is reported to be seeing top model Nadine Leopold who is based in New York. But, while his lunch companion in Much Hoole looked strikingly similar, it also resembled his sister Gemma.

Later that same day it was business as usual for the singer, whose family live in Cheshire.

He was cornered by photographers leaving a restaurant in Knutsford after having dinner with his mother and looked far from happy.

Harry’s visit to Preston is rumoured to have invoved his other big passion – fast cars.

Only 18 months ago he stayed in the area on a shopping spree and was rumoured to have hired a secluded house for a romantic break with singer Taylor Swift.

And one of the country’s top luxury and performance car showrooms is just a mile or so up the road from San Marco, in Walmer Bridge.

But a spokesman for William Loughran Limited denied the pop star had paid a visit last week looking to buy. “We haven’t seen him here,” he said.
