The latest celebrity gossip stories

:: ALLEN LEECH has joked that One Direction’s NIALL HORAN should play his screen son on Downton Abbey.

The Irish actor, who plays Tom Branson in the ITV period drama, reckons that the boyband singer should make a cameo in the upcoming fourth season because they look quite similar.

“You mean, my son? My son Niall Horan. Absolutely, and then we actually do a musical episode and we get the whole of One Direction in,” he quipped to MTV News.

“I pitched it to Julian (Fellowes, creator and writer). Weirdly enough, he hasn’t gotten back to my email.”

:: JESSICA ALBA has revealed she worked hard to master complicated new dance routines for the Sin City sequel.

The US actress, who performed a raunchy routine in the first film, admitted she needed three months training before she reprised her role as exotic dancer Nancy Callahan in ROBERT RODRIGUEZ’s follow-up, A Dame To Kill For.

“I had to learn a bunch of dance sequences for it. I do a lot more dancing in this one. It was kind of crazy. It was very, very difficult, and you’ll see why,” she told Vulture.

:: JUDE LAW has revealed how he got the part in WES ANDERSON’s Grand Budapest Hotel - by writing letters to the director.

The British actor, who stars in the forthcoming movie alongside RALPH FIENNES, SAOIRSE RONAN, TILDA SWINTON, EDWARD NORTON and BILL MURRAY, decided to wield pen and paper to impress the film-maker.

“I mean, I’m a tiny part, but I was a huge fan of his and I’ve admired his films and wrote to him several times. Letters initially, which is very in his genre, and now emails,” he told Collider.

“It wasn’t a case of begging, it really was just saying, ‘I love what you do and I want to live in that world’. And he was very sweet to ask me to be a part of this one.”

:: JLS heartthrob ASTON MERRYGOLD has revealed his mum has given the seal of approval to his dancer girlfriend Sarah Richards.

Singer and Got To Dance judge Aston is approaching his six-month anniversary with Sarah, but took a while to introduce his new lady to mum Siobhan.

He told Reveal magazine: “I’ve always said that my mum has to approve of my girlfriends.

“Sarah didn’t meet her until recently, because my rule is that a girl has to last a little while before she meets my mum!”

:: STOOSHE have revealed how inspiring they found meeting JENNIFER LOPEZ when they supported her on her European tour.

The Black Heart singers - Courtney Rumbold, Alexandra Buggs and Karis Anderson - are ambassadors for the vInspired Beta Generation Live, and have been sharing their own inspirations in a discussion with young people.

Karis said: “J-Lo was one of the most inspiring people we’ve met. She’s amazing. We had a lot of time to get to know her team, we met her, we were just chatting away to her, she’s so lovely.

“She made us realise you can still be at that level and still be humble and inspiring. She had her family on tour with her, it was just really inspiring to be around her.”

:: PAUL GIAMATTI is in talks to appear in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, according to reports.

The Oscar-nominated actor is said to be in the frame to play the villainous Rhino in the upcoming sequel, said The Hollywood Reporter.

The 45-year-old, who appeared in Rock Of Ages and Cinderella Man, would become the second nemesis to the webbed superhero in the film, as JAMIE FOXX has already been confirmed to play Electro.
