It might still be August but Christmas has come early for one garden centre.

Barton Grange, at Brock, near Preston, already has a range of festive stock on display - despite it being four months from the big day.

Some customers are a little surprised but we find many are keen to buy what they need early, before the rush starts.

Marketing manager Kate Ford

Marketing manager Kate Ford said: “Most retailers who sell Christmas products will start to introduce their ranges in late summer and Barton Grange is no different. We start in August with just Christmas cards and gift-wrap.

“Some customers are a little surprised but we find many are keen to buy what they need early, before the rush starts. Our main Christmas displays open in October and attract huge numbers of visitors.”

The store goes on to have an impressive range of Christmas stock as December edges closer.

Jo Higham commented on Facebook about the store’s decorations, saying: “It’s a lovely start to Christmas to walk up the avenue of brightly lit trees which is was amazing and then to be greeted by the the wonderful display of decorations.

“What more could we ask for? Well, done to everyone and a big thank you to the staff.”

Cheryl Johnston also commented on Facebook. She said: “OMG absolutely brilliant xmas displays, gets better every year, spent nearly three hours there yesterday. Feeling festive!”

Steven Andjelkovich spoke about the store’s displays last year and said he will definitely be going this year. He said: “Just taken my one-year-old to see Father Christmas and was very impressed!

“All the elves and Santa already knew his name and made him feel at ease.

“The price included a lovely toy, a book and a photo well worth the money and will be booking again next year.”

And Sharon Robinson Schiavo was very impressed by the decorations, saying on Facebook: “The Christmas section is fantastic, best one I’ve ever seen!”

Mrs Ford said she hopes the customers will enjoy this year’s Christmas display.
