Date set for forum meeting

A NEIGHBOURHOOD forum for people living in Samlesbury, Coupe Green, Gregson Lane, Walton-le-Dale and Bamber Bridge will take place on Thursday September 18.

The meeting will be held at Samlesbury Memorial Hall in Cuerdale Lane from 7pm and will last for an hour.

Mayor to attend health mela

THE Mayor of South Ribble, Coun Graham Walton, will attend the annual health mela in Leyland on Saturday.

It will be held at the Civic Centre in Towngate, Leyland and has been organised by the Rotary Club of Leyland.

The event, now in its third year, starts at 11am.

Meet with MP at surgery event

PRESTON’S MP Mark Hendrick will hold a surgery at Preston Community Transport in Friargate on Friday September 19.

It runs from 3pm to 5pm. Surgeries are run on a first come-first served basis.

Bottoms up for Challenge Walk

THE annual Bottoms Up Challenge Walk with the West Lancashire group of the Long Distance Walkers Association will take place on October 11.

Hay blaze ‘was deliberate’

TWO fire crews spent around an hour battling a blaze involving hay in a farmer’s field in Pope Lane, Ribbleton, Preston, yesterday afternoon.

Crews from Preston and Penwortham attended. It is believed the blaze was started deliberately.

Coffee morning to beat cancer

A CHARITY coffee morning will take place later this month.

In a bid to raise funds for Macmillan nurses, a Macmillan coffee morning will be held at Preston Minster on September 26. The event will run between 10am and 1pm.
