Man is trapped in garage door

LEYLAND fire brigade rescued a man who was trapped in a garage door, The fire service were called out to an incident at a house on Pintail Close, Leyland at 2,30pm yesterday.

A spokesman said: “It was a complex job, we had to free a man who got his fingers trapped in the mechanism of a garage door. We cut the wires and freed him. He went to hospital as a precaution.”

Dog microchip

FREE dog microchipping events are running in Longton, Penwortham and Leyland.

Staff from the Dogs Trust will carry out the chipping, while council officers will offer advice about responsible dog ownership. Events on July 23, 29 and 30. Call 01772 421491 for more information.

FOOTPRINTS Child Care Ltd in School Lane, Bamber Bridge, has applied for permission to increase its capacity from 51 to 62 children.

COMMUNITY Foster Care will be at Sainsbury’s supermarket, Lancaster Road, Morecambe, on July, 18 to answer questions about fostering. Emma Weaver, the charity’s registered manager, said: “It is an opportunity for anyone interested to have an informal chat.”

Roofer bailed

A ROOFER accused of going equipped for theft is to stand trial at Preston Crown Court.

Ross Brown, 26, of Thompson Street, Preston, denies the charge. He was bailed by Blackpool Magistrates to appear at the higher court on September 3.

Landlady found over drink limit

A LANDLADY was found to be over the limit when she drove onto the car park of the pub she ran.

Michelle Camilleri, manager of The Lord Derby, St Annes, was followed by a patrol after police received a tip-off she had been drinking on June 22. Camilleri, 33, of Greenacres, Freckleton, pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol. She was bailed for pre-sentence reports by District Judge Pamela Baldwin at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
