New parking restrictions could be introduced near a host of schools to improve road safety.
Lancashire County Council wants to put traffic regulation orders in place near seven schools around Chorley.

They will restrict parking to make the areas safer for parents and children near the schools.
Ridwan Musa, Lancashire County Council’s highways manager, said: “These traffic regulation orders are only put in place close to schools where there are very specific issues that cause safety problems at times when people drop children off and pick them up from school.
“This measure is only used to ensure that children, their parents and other road users are safe where our investigations have identified a significant road safety issue as a result of parking close to a school at busy times.”
The traffic regulation orders are at: Bury Lane, Withnell (St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School); Doctors Lane, Eccleston (Eccleston Primary School); Fiddlers Lane, Clayton-le-Woods (Manor Road Primary School); Preston Road, Coppull (Coppull St John’s Primary School); Eaves Green Road/Evergreen Close, Chorley (St Gregory’s RC Primary School); Chancery Road, Astley Village (Buckshaw Primary School); and Village Way/Aycliffe Drive, Buckshaw Village (Trinity CE/Methodist Primary School).
County Coun Mark Perks welcomed the parking restrictions at the three schools in his ward - Trinity, Manor Road and Buckshaw primary schools.
He said: “It’s really important that there are proper lines of sight.
“It makes it easier for pedestrians, especially schoolchildren.”
