A roadshow to explain the new electoral registration system will be held today.

In the past one person in each household was responsible for registering everyone who lived there. Now each person is responsible for their own registration.

Since the change in June, households have been sent one of three letters - confirmation of automatic registration, an open register letter informing the person their details are available for anyone who wants them, or a letter asking the person to register again because their details may have changed.

Details on how to proceed have been issued in the letters, but more help is available. A roadshow runs today from 11am to 4pm at Newman College car park, and also at the same time on September 5 at Fishwick Ramblers car park and on September 19 at Acregate Lane Club car park.
