A wildlife haven has been shortlisted for two Lancashire tourism awards.
The WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre in Burscough, which is home to several bird species including kingfishers and pinkfooted geese, has been nominated for the best large attraction and green tourism award categories.
Today, centre manager Nick Brooks, said: “It is a fantastic achievement for the centre to be shortlisted for these awards as there is so much competition throughout Lancashire.
“Being my first year in charge of Martin Mere I am really looking forward to attending these awards and hopefully winning at least one of them.
He added: “Congratulations to all the staff and volunteers at WWT Martin Mere for making this shortlisting possible.”
The winners will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday November 7 in Blackburn.
