A national retailer is to open a new branch at a Lancashire retail park.

Pets at Home has confirmed it will invest more than £377,000 on opening at the Capitol Centre at Walton-le-Dale.

The opening, which will take place on March 15, will create 19 new jobs.

Store manager Dave Fallon, who previously worked at the chain’s store on Mariners’ Way, Preston, said he was “delighted” to be opening the new branch.

He said: “We are all passionate about pets, which is evident to everyone who visits a Pets at Home store.

“Every day brings new challenges and it’s never the same two days running.

“I enjoy interacting with customers and giving them the help and advice they need.”

The company said it was “committed” to recruiting staff from the local area and was seeking people with a strong belief in animal welfare.
