The parents of a 10-year-old girl who died from a brain tumour have their awareness campaign onto national television.
Paula and David Holmes from Penwortham, appeared on the national news section of ITV’s Daybreak show yesterday morning.
A clip of them talking about their daughter Katy, who died in January last year, was used to accompany news about a concert in memory of Charlatans drummer Jon Brookes, who also died of the condition in August.
Paula said: “They showed a 30 second clip of us on the hourly news throughout the morning’s programme.
“They didn’t show us talking about the Trust, but we were wearing our t-shirts, and any kind of national publicity is always welcome.”
Katy was diagnosed in 2011 after Paula noticed her demeanour had changed and she was suffering from headaches and blurred vision.
The Trust works to raise awareness and fund the research into paediatric brain tumours.
