Eva Grey, 22, who lives in Preston, recently graduated from an international journalism degree at the University of Central Lancashire.
She tells us about some of her favourite fashion items which she picked up from her home country Romania and during her travels around Europe.
MY BIGGEST BARGAIN
“When it comes to fashion trends, I’m not much of a follower. More often than not, I tend to go for items which reflect my personality and tastes, rather than the latest catwalk craze.
“But when I do decide to spend my pennies on a new treat, it’s because I have fallen head over heels in love with it.
“What gets me hooked is the perfect balance between price and looks – you can usually find me in the sales section idily browsing for a colourful gem - after all, who doesn’t love a bargain?
“Clothes hunting is often a reliable method to blow off some steam and delight myself even when it’s just window shopping.
“But some things just can’t stay on the shelf - which is what happened with my Joyz striped black and white long sleeved shirt which is also my biggest bargain.
“I bought this from Joyz in Romania, which is a Romanian clothes chain.
“The sleek, daring design is my perfect mix between club-wear and office-pose.
“Its thin vertical running lines and slightly askew cut could compliment any figure and send off a strong, eye-catching vibe in any environment.
“With a price tag of only £10, I knew it had to be mine.
“Although its appeal could be considered quite niche by many, I certainly attract some looks while walking to the office, coffee in hand, wearing this striking item.
“Wearing it gives me the confidence to be myself, speak up and take the scene at any given moment.
“After all, any item looks better when worn with a self-assured pose and accessorised with a confident smile.”
MY ULTIMATE SPLURGE
“My ultimate fashion splurge is my top guilt-free investment ... something I refuse to leave the house without - my charm of a van which I wear on my necklace.
“My lucky charm carries the memories of a delightful Paris trip where I knew I would find my elusive perfect piece of jewellery.
“A few months before the moment when my little hippy van became part of my life, I caught a glimpse of it within the glossy pages of a Thomas Sabo catalogue.
“At that moment, I felt convinced it had been somehow, created just for me.
“As it turns out, it was meant to be. When visiting Paris, my first stop was at Galleries Lafayette shopping mall where I knew my beloved charm would be waiting.
“Made out of silver with delicate hand-drawn hippy patterns, it easily justifies its dear £175 tag.
“It’s not so much a splurge as it is a life-long investment.
“My little van is one of my most precious possessions and leaving it behind at the start of the day is unconceivable.
“Needless to say, it quickly catches everyone’s eye and compliments soon follow.
“I even got stopped at the airport check-in once just to be informed how nice my necklace is.
“As fashion trends come and go, clothes wear out and shoes are famously perishable.
“But I know one thing that will undoubtedly stay will be my van – rolling with the times.”
