A Lancashire MP has helped establish an emergency food bank collection with Living Waters Church to help support the people of Chorley over Christmas.
Lindsay Hoyle has decided to try one last push before Christmas following calls for further food supplies in Chorley.
Living Water Church, which administers the food bank in Chorley said: “Over the last year, our referrals have increased on a monthly basis, going from around 50 per month in January to a record 101 in November.
“December brings a much larger increase, with the extra food hampers we are giving out to people here in Chorley.”
Mr Hoyle said: “Many of the people in need of help haven’t eaten for days and have no one else to turn to for help.
“While I know that for so many constituents times are difficult but for the people who are relying on help from the food bank this Christmas any donation you can give will make a huge difference.
“I know the people of Chorley are very generous.
“I thank them for supporting our most vulnerable residents.”
