A cancer charity is appealing for people from Lancashire to take part in a tough mountaineering challenge.
Respected British Mountaineer Sir Chris Bonnington, is backing Marie Curie’s ‘The Scafell Pike Five Peaks Challenge’ and is urging people not to miss out on the opportunity to take on the best of the British outdoors whilst raising funds for the charity.
Sir Chris said; “Every step that you take and every pound that you raise will help Marie Curie Nurses to provide more hands on care and support to terminally ill patients in their own homes”.
The challenge will take place on September 21 and will see participants scaling five of the highest peaks in the Lake District in a single day, including the mighty Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England.
Registration for the event is only open until Wednesday September 18 online at www.mariecurie.org.uk/scafell or call 01254 855050.
