The mother of a baby girl who was killed by a dog in Lancashire and her boyfriend have been released on bail by police.
Eleven-month-old Ava-Jayne Marie Corless was mauled by the dog as she slept upstairs in a bed in Emily Street, Blackburn, on Monday night.
She died at Royal Blackburn Hospital.
Chloe King, 20, and Lee Wright, 26, were arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and child neglect.
They have been bailed pending further inquiries.
Ms King and Mr Wright, who is not the child’s father, were downstairs when Ava-Jayne was attacked.
Ava-Jayne was not at her home address but lived nearby.
Lancashire Police have confirmed that the dog was a “pit bull terrier-type dog prohibited under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991”. The dog has been destroyed.
A post-mortem examination is due to take place to find out the exact cause of Ava-Jayne’s death.
