Since being named Miss Preston Guild in 2012 Mary-Kate McKay is used to being in the spotlight - but now for the first time she has been filmed for an upcoming documentary.
The 23-year-old who has also been named Miss Lancashire, has been taking part in a new up and coming Channel 4 Documentary based on Miss England.
Mary-Kate’s Miss Lancashire title means she will go to the final of Miss England and producers behind the show have been following a number of the finalists.
So far she has been filmed interviewing contestants at the Miss Fylde Coast competition.
“I was presenting different questions to the girls and trying to get different information from them,” she said, “It was really incredible, it was a 12 hour day. It was exciting, I would love to go down that route.” The programme is set to be aired in June and focuses on education and beauty.
She added: “I am in my element when I am talking to people and spending time with them, you can always learn something from somebody.”
Throughout the day of filming Mary-Kate was followed around by the film crews.
She said: “It was quite intense but it was really interesting and a good think to be part of.”
Mary-Kate said since scooping the two titles it has opened up many doors for her. “It has been life changing so far,” she said.
It isn’t the first time in recent weeks that Mary-Kate has been putting her presenting skills to the test.
She has recently filmed a piece for Granada Reports about model agency scams following her own experiences and highlighting that young aspiring models can be conned out of money from fake agencies.
