Dig In, the walled garden project based in Ashton Park, Preston, is holding an open day on September 7.
The garden, which is used by local military veterans as a place to meet and share a brew and a chat, was created by a Channel 5 makeover programme with a difference.
A team of ex-military personnel toured the country helping local community groups with various building projects.
The resulting programme, Construction Squad, Operation Homefront, can be seen in early September.
Since then the garden has grown. It produces fruit and vegetables, flowers and herbs, all of which are shared with a local project for people who currently have no home.
Donna Rowe-Green, the founder of Dig In said: “This garden provides a safe place for people to come together with others that have shared a rather unique situation in their lives. Those of us that have never served cannot understand what our military personnel have seen, and for that we should be grateful.”
