Emma, a senior sister in neuro intensive care at Leeds General infirmary, wanted their wedding day to be personally created by themselves including invites which saw Emma hand sewing a burlap wrap round each one.

“The wedding favours were homemade fudge made by my mum and sister,” said Emma, “the wine was picked from our favourite South African wines that we tasted whilst on holiday there and the flowers were favourites from my childhood allowing me to have my grandad with me in sunflowers, sweet peas and daisies, and forget me knots in my bouquet for both my something blue and for my grandma who was unable to join us as she has dementia.

“We actually Facetimed her from church so she could see the vows.

“Our first dance was a song from when we first got together and our evening party was everything we love all of our friends dancing, fancy dress and having a great time - we finished the night with an old skool rave and glow sticks! The best thing about the day was having everyone I love around me as I married my best friend. It was everything I had dreamed it would be and more. I felt like the luckiest girl alive, absolute perfection. And Simon, a creative artworker added: “From start to finish the whole weekend was epic.
