Tributes have been pouring in for a Lancashire lawyer who died after being stabbed.

David Mark Edwards, 51, died from a single wound to the chest in what police believe was a “domestic incident”.

The emergency services were called to his detached house on Parkers Wood Close, Chorley, at 8.20pm on Sunday.

Police have arrested a 42-year-old woman from Chorley on suspicion of murder and were continuing to question her yesterday after being given extra time.

Mr Edwards worked as a solicitor and was well-known on the magistrates’ court circuit.

He previously ran his own firm, Stanley H Cross in Chorley, and he moved to Kevills when it was taken over.

He had recently returned from his honeymoon after getting married.

Mr Edwards was also a devoted Chorley FC fan.
