Preston Mayor Veronica Afrin is urging people to register for tickets to look around Preston’s historic town hall.
The town hall will be opening its doors and vaults for the first time on Saturday and showing off the city’s precious regalia, mayors’ chains and historic rooms.
The event starts at 10am and there will be guided tours around the council chambers at 10am, 11am, 1pm and 2pm.
The open day is free.
However, people need to register for a ticket as there are a limited number of spaces.
The Mayor of Preston, Coun Veronica Afrin, said: “I feel privileged to be able to show off the wonderful historical treasures to the people of Preston. I am very proud and lucky to be mayor of such a historical city.
“The current town hall, which was previously known as the municipal building, is a wonderful space with many stories to tell.”
If you would like to register for a ticket for the open day, or to find out more about the event, visit www.heritageopendays.org.uk or call 01772 253731.
