There was something for everyone – including the Mayor – to try out at Fulwood Leisure Centre’s open day.
The open day was a chance for people to try out the venue’s new facilities and take part in taster exercise classes.
The Mayor of Preston, Coun Veronica Afrin, officially opened the new exercise studio at the leisure centre and was put through her paces in the body pump class by Deb Shariff.
The newly built exercise studio has provided the leisure centre with the opportunity to deliver more than 100 classes per week.
Classes range from high energy calorie burning, such as Les Mills GRIT, to the more relaxed and soothing sessions of Yoga and Pilates.
Recently introduced to the timetable at the centre were GRIT and Body Pump. GRIT is a 30 minute high intensity interval training workout and Body Pump is a barbell class which will sculpt, tone and strengthen the entire body.
Jimmy Khan, Head of Sport and Leisure at Preston City Council, said: “The addition of a second exercise class studio is great news for centre.
“This means we will now deliver the largest exercise class timetable in Preston.”
