Man used 'hypnosis' on girls
A pervert used a hypnotising game to sexually assault two young girls, a court heard.
David Holmes, 69, pretended to hypnotise the victims before kissing and touching them.
He carried out most of the assaults at his then home in New Longton, Preston Crown Court was told.
One victim later told police Holmes "would make us run and hypnotise us" in a game he called "ogre."
Holmes, now of St Jude's Avenue, Bamber Bridge, pleaded guilty to a total of 12 offences of sexually assaulting the two girls, the court heard.
When arrested Holmes accepted he had played the game and added he had "gone too far."
Beverley Hackett, defending, said: "He is a broken man, these convictions bring great shame to him. He is at a loss to explain why he behaved in the way he did."
Judge Robert Brown sentenced Holmes to a three-year community order, ordered him to undertake a sex offenders programme and put him on the Sex Offenders' Register for five years.
He must also have no unsupervised contact with any children under 16 and must not allow any child unaccompanied into his home.
