Man rescued from lift twice in a month

A man had to be rescued from a lift in Preston - just weeks after he last got stuck.

Firefighters were called to flats at Richmond House, Avenham, at 12.30pm on Saturday.

The lift had broken down between floors and firefighters manually wound the lift down to release the man.

A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "The man, who was in his 20s, was trapped for about half an hour.

"He had a bicycle with him."
