A 35-stone man had to be lifted out of his house by firefighters after falling ill.

Crews were called to an address in Clayton Brook at 8.45pm on Friday, after paramedics were unable to get the man down the stairs of his first floor flat.

Firefighters removed a bedroom window and used stretchers and an aerial ladder platform to winch the man out.

They then accompanied him to hospital to help paramedics with movements.
