A man was rushed to hospital after collapsing at Preston Bus Station earlier today.

Ambulance crews were called to an incident at the depot in Tithebarn Street at 1.30pm.

The man - who has not be named - was taken to Royal Preston Hospital in Fulwood.

A spokesman for the ambulance service said: “We did attend an incident at Preston Bus Station.

“A patient collapsed and was suffering chest pains.

“He was transferred by ambulance to Royal Preston Hospital.”

But according to a Lancashire Evening Post reader a heroic bus driver performed CPR and saved the man’s life.

Heather Kearns said: “Praise for a bus driver at Preston Bus Station he’s just given a man a good chance of living by performing CPR for 25 minutes.”

Preston Bus Station refused to comment.
