Police have appealed for information after a man was robbed in a Preston park in broad daylight.

Officers say the man was sitting on a bench in Winckley Square at around 10.30am on Thursday April 23 when he was approached by two men.

This was a nasty and violent robbery which happened in broad daylight while the victim was sitting in the park making the most of the nice weather

One of the men said: “You are being robbed,” before punching him on the side of the head. The two men then pinned the victim to the ground and kicked and punched him repeatedly before searching his pockets.

The attackers, one white, one black and both around 6ft, fled the scene with £20 in cash after they were disturbed by two members of the public. The victim sustained facial injuries and a black eye.

DC Geoff Wade said: “This was a nasty and violent robbery which happened in broad daylight while the victim was sitting in the park making the most of the nice weather.”
