Drivers using the M6 on Wednesday and Thursday nights are being reminded the northbound carriageway around Lancaster will be closed for resurfacing work.
The Highways Agency is resurfacing about a mile of the northbound carriageway between junction 34 for Lancaster and junction 35 for Carnforth.
The northbound carriageway will be closed between 8pm and 6am on February 11 and 12.
Drivers seeking to travel beyond junction 34 will be diverted off the motorway at junction 34 and north east along the A683 to Kirkby Lonsdale and then north west up the A65 to rejoin the motorway at junction 36.
However, this route is not suitable for heavy vehicles over 15’ 6” (4.7m) or other larger heavy goods vehicles such as cranes. Those vehicles will be asked to stop at Lancaster services just south of junction 33 of the motorway.
The work is not connected to Lancashire County Council’s Heysham Link project which is taking place off junction 34 of the motorway.
