A motorcyclist is expected to face a trial over allegations he caused serious injuries to a woman by driving dangerously.
Martin Winstanley, of Kingsley Drive, Chorley, appeared before Chorley Magistrates Court after being charged with causing injury by driving dangerously.
He is charged with possession of the class A drug cocaine with intent to supply it to another.
It is believed the 22-year-old seriously injured his leg following an accident on April 20 this year at Charnock Richard.
The bike hit Anne Grand, a well known local resident, causing her serious injuries.
The Evening Post understands she is recovering from her injuries and she has thanked well wishers through the local parish council.
It is alleged Winstanley was riding the Suzuki GSR600 motorbike dangerously on Chorley Lane, a winding narrow road linking Charnock Richard with Chorley.
It is also alleged he was in possession of a quantity of cocaine on the same day.
He will next appear before Preston Crown Court on October 28 for a preliminary hearing.
The accident caused concern among residents with pleas for the council to look at safety issues on the road in question.
