A woman was taken to hospital following a two vehicle collision on junction 2 of the M65.

A woman was taken to hospital following a two vehicle collision on junction 2 of the M65.

The crash, involving a Seat car and a white van, happened at around 4pm on Sunday afternoon.

The car left the road and hit a road sign before rolling over.

The driver of the car, a 45-year-old woman, had to be cut free from the car by firefighters and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The exit slip road of the motorway was closed whilst emergency services dealt with the accident.

The driver of the white van was unhurt.
