Woman arrested in charity fraud probe

A woman has been arrested over allegations of fraud against a Preston charity.

The Space Centre in Ashton was left with a £800,000 funding black hole after funding it believed it had secured never arrived.

A Lancashire police spokesman said a 51-year-old woman had been arrested on suspicion of fraud in Dunblane in Scotland and was being questioned by police in Preston.

The centre has been providing services for severely disabled people across Lancashire for almost 20 years.
