A Lancashire man is loving the attention he’s getting after being thrust into the limelight following a mischievous night club prank.
James Corden lookalike Wes Howson is now leading the double life as the TV cult hero.
Wes has already hit the national headlines and has even been mentioned by the Gavin and Stacey star on the social networking site Twitter, after fans thought he was their idol during a night out recently.
The 24-year-old, from Whittle-le-Woods, was enjoying a night in Manchester when staff mistook him for the actor, and started giving him VIP treatment.
Wes, a BT account manager, lapped up the attention as he was given free drinks and was mobbed by girls who posed with him for photographs.
Now, after club-goers posted the snaps on the internet, Wes has received recognition from James Corden himself.
On Monday, the star tweeted: “Love this guy @Wez_chiiiii classic!”
Wes was delighted to receive a mention from the funnyman, who he has been watching on TV for years.
He said: “I couldn’t believe he tweeted me.
“He is a legend himself, I mean anyone who has done a TV advert with David Beckham is definitely a legend.”
And the tweet has well and truly boosted Wes’s own profile, with more than 100 people following him on Twitter since the famous shout-out.
But this isn’t the first time Wes has been spotted by Corden fans, and he says it’s becoming more of a regular occurrence on nights out in different cities.
“It’s happened quite a lot,” he said.
“At the end of nights out, people have come up to me thinking I’m James Corden, but I’ve never really played on it before.
“I never thought about playing on it, but when the club in Manchester thought I was James, I just thought ‘why not?’”
And after getting a taste of what it’s like to be a celebrity, Wes is now thinking of going into the lookalike business full time.
“It’s definitely something I’m going to look into,” he said.
“I mean people actually think I look like him so why not?”
