Warning as thieves target Lancashire vehicle fuel

Appeal: Image from theft

Appeal: Image from theft

Businesses have been urged to take precautions against fuel theft as offenders continue to target industrial sites in north Lancashire.

Officers are looking in to a number of cases where thieves have siphoned large amounts of diesel and petrol from company vehicles left out in the open.

A CCTV still from a high-value theft in Lancaster has now been released in a bid to find one of the potential offenders.

Eight vehicles were targeted at the Lune Industrial Estate in October last year, with more than £1,200 worth of fuel being stolen.

Sgt Simon Balderstone, said: “Fuel theft can have a significant financial impact on a business.”
