Van stolen from pub car park

The man suspected of stealing the van from the Kings Arms in High Street, Garstang

The man suspected of stealing the van from the Kings Arms in High Street, Garstang

A van containing more than £3,000 of tools was stolen from a pub car park in Garstang.

Police said the white Mercedes Sprinter, which was parked in the car park of the Kings Arms in High Street, was broken into and stolen at around 6.45am on February 4.

The van, which contained around £3,000 of tools, was then spotted at a petrol station on the A6 at Churchtown at around 7am.

When it left, it was being driven in the direction of Broughton.

Officers have released a CCTV image of a man who they are looking to speak to in connection with the theft.

PC Rachel Bibby said: “I would appeal to anybody that recognises the description of this man or with any other information about this offence to come forward and contact us.

“This theft has affected the victim’s business, leaving him in a position where he has to borrow tools and equipment in order to carry out his day to day business and so we are very keen to do all we can to try and reunite him with his property.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Lancashire Police on 101, quoting crime reference BC1300488.

People with information can also contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or online at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
