Tributes left on Princess Way after bodies of a woman and baby have been found

A mother and her baby have been found dead at a house in Chorley.

Police have launched an investigation in relation to the deaths of Angel Hudson, known locally as Katie, and Arthur Hudson-Cardy.

They said they were treating the case as a murder inquiry but they were not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.

Officers were called to an address on Princess Way in Euxton just before 7pm on Wednesday.

They found the bodies of a 26-year-old woman and a 22-month-old boy.

Post mortem examinations to establish the causes of death will be carried out in due course.

Detective superintendent Eddie Thistlethwaite, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a tragic case; it is being treated as a murder inquiry, although we are not looking for anybody else in connection with this incident.

“We are still in the very early stages of this investigation, but we are conducting a number of enquiries in order to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the deaths.”
