UPDATE: Murder investigation launched after teenager’s death

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the death of a teenager in Preston.

Police were called to St Stephen’s Road, Deepdale, at about 11.20pm on Saturday, after reports a man had been seriously injured.

Emergency services attended and a man, believed to be a local man in his late teens, was found in the street with serious wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation, led by the force major investigation team, is underway and a 20-year-old man from Preston has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody.

A post mortem examination will be carried out to try to establish the exact cause of death, but police said the man had suffered what appear to be a number of knife wounds.

Police cordons and a forensics tent were put up at the scene, and a number of extra reassurance patrols were in the area on Sunday.
