Preston Fencing Club is running a free taster session this month for anyone who wants to try the sport.
The event, on Monday, January 20, is suitable for all age ranges from eight and above, and all abilities.
Club member Kev Riley said: “In the two-hour session you will be introduced to the sport, its various disciplines, and then shown how to stand, move, attack and defend. By the end of the evening you will be sword fighting!
“In between the action you will also have the chance to speak to club members, particularly those who started fencing quite recently themselves.”
All equipment is provided and no experience is needed.
Everyone will be given the opportunity to sign up for a beginners’ course following the taster session.
Places are limited. To book a place, contact the club secretary on 01772744766, at firstname.lastname@example.org, or by leaving a message on the club’s Facebook page.
Preston Fencing Club is affiliated to British Fencing Association.
