Transport festival returns

All roads will lead to Leyland in a celebration of the town's industrial heritage.

Vintage cars, trucks and buses will roll into the town centre for the Leyland Transport Festival on July 10 and 11.

The event follows the success of last year's festival, which attracted more than 10,000 people.

Local businesses and community groups have now set up an organising committee to make this year's event bigger and better.

The British Commercial Vehicle Museum will be the focal point of the celebrations, with other events taking place around the town and a special homecoming dinner.

Hough Lane will also be used for truck pulling, with team kart races also planned.

For more information on how to get involved, call Howerd Booth, at South Ribble Council's regeneration department on 01772 625625.
