TWO crashes along the same stretch of road have caused traffic problems in Leyland.
Around 12.15pm on Thursday, a black Astra and a black Hinda Civic collided at the junction of Schleswig Way and Dunkirk Lane.
Paramedics were called but the drivers were reported to have escaped with only minor injuries. Police were needed to direct traffic in the area.
A short time later, a couple of miles further along the road towards Penwortham at the junction where where Flensburg Way meets Farington Moss, a forklift truck fell of a trailer.
Passing motorist Coun Keith Martin said: “It looked like the trailer suddenly stopped, but the forklift didn’t, and it came off.
“There was a policeman on a motorbike and other motorists stopped to help out and get the forklift back on the trailer.”
