Two people have been taken to hospital after a tractor fell off a bridge and landed upside-down in a stream.

The crash happened on Inglewhite Road in Longridge at around 6.30pm on Friday evening and involved three other cars.

The driver of the tractor managed to escape before it landed in the water, but people in two other cars had to be rescued by ambulance and fire crews.

They were taken to hospital for treatment.

Firefighters from Preston and Longridge attended the scene to assist paramedics.

Watch manager Mark Woodward, of Preston Fire Station, said: “One pump from Preston and one from Longridge attended the scene and were asked by ambulance crews to provide lighting to assist with the treatment of a casualty, and removing one casualty with a long board.

“All other occupants were out when we arrived.”
