A thug who assaulted a man and a woman before smashing a chest of drawers, vase and dish has been given a suspended prison sentence.
Scott Hubbard, 22, of Carnarvon Road, Preston, admitted committing the attacks on December 12 last year.
Chorley Magistrates’ Court heard how he assaulted the pair of victims in Penwortham.
Magistrates said the offence was so serious because the attacks were carried out “in the presence of family”, “in drink and drugs” and because of Hubbard’s criminal record.
He was sentenced to eight weeks in jail for the attack on the man, and 16 concurrent weeks in prison for the assault on the woman. Both terms were suspended for two years.
Magistrates ordered him to pay his male victim £50 in compensation and his female victim £100 in compensation.
Hubbard was told to pay a further £57 in compensation for the criminal damage.
He must also visit an attendance centre for 36 hours.
