Three cars and trees burn in car park fire

Firefighters were called to Dock Acres, in Warton, near Carnforth, at around 4pm on Wednesday.

A Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said it received initial reports that a single vehicle was on fire.

But firefighters discovered the fire had spread and that three cars were well alight in the car park, near Pine Lake.

Crews from Carnforth and Bolton-le-Sands used two hose reels and a light portable pump to put out the blaze.

They said all three cars were damaged by the fire and that the fire had also spread to street lights and trees.

Officers said two street lights were 100% damaged by fire and two mature trees severely damaged by fire.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
