Three arrested after Chorley brawl

Three youths have been arrested following a street brawl in Chorley that left one man with serious head injuries.

The incident, involving a number of people, broke out in St Thomas's Road at around 2.35am on Saturday, June 27.

Police were called to the scene after reports of a street fight and three youths were arrested on drunken disorderly charges.

Sgt Azz Khan, from Chorley Police, said: "We were called to reports of rowdy behaviour outside The George pub where there were a number of youths fighting in the street.

"We found that one man suffered a gash to the back of his head. At first he said he had fallen but later said he was assaulted by three youths.

"The description of the attackers matched the three men who had already been arrested for drunken disorderly offences."

The man's injuries are not life-threatening but he was treated at Chorley hospital.

Anyone with information call Chorley police on 0845 1 253545 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
