A man has been jailed for a total of 14 weeks for his part in the theft of £243 of diesel fuel from a Lancashire firm.
Aaron Sowerby was charged with two other men.
It followed an incident on August 9 in which fuel was stolen from Monks Contractors based in Mellor Brook, East Lancashire.
Sowerby, of Ridley Road, Ashton-on-Ribble, has previously pleaded not guilty but changed his plea to guilty in a haering before magistrates.
Preston Magistrates Court jailed the 24-year-old for four weeks but activated a suspended 10 week sentence he was given for an offence of battery made on July 10.
The bench said the theft was serious enough to justify prison because it had been committed in the period of a suspended jail term.
They took his guilty plea into account.
