Teenager banned from keeping dogs

A teenager whose Neapolitan Mastiff terrorised an estate has been banned from keeping dogs for two years.

Spencer Moore, 18, of Dawnay Road, Greenlands, Ribbleton, allowed Kilo to roam the streets, intimidating residents, damaging park equipment and fouling the pavements.

Neapolitan Mastiff is a large dog which can be extremely protective of its home and family and can be aggressive towards strangers and unfamiliar dogs.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: “Just its sheer size was enough to make people fearful.

“He used the dog as a trophy and let his associates use the dog to promote their status on the estate.

“Kilo damaged park furniture whilst out unsupervised by chewing through them and he bared his teeth at officers stop-checking individuals on the estate.”

Anonymous residents complained the animal was being used to make people’s lives across the estate unbearable.

Community beat managers, PC Emma Jackson and PC Dan Bradshaw, collected a file of evidence against Moore and he was found guilty in his absence on May 18 at Preston Magistrates’ Court.

He received a two-year disqualification from keeping or owning a dog and was fined £165.

Kilo was found wandering the streets on the neighbouring Grange estate on February 5 and has been rehomed with a new family outside Preston.

But saying that i think everybody on the estate would like to have a dog this size due to the fac that the estate is probaly the roughest in Preston if not Lancashire.

Hopefully the dog will be looked after properly and this rodent will never be allowed to have another dog ever again
