A teenager has been charged in relation to an armed robbery at an off-licence in Penwortham.
Luke Ashton, 19, of Ryefield Avenue, Penwortham, was charged with robbery, possession of a firearm while committing a schedule one offence and possession of a Class B drug – cannabis.
The charges relate to an incident at the Bargain Booze shop in Pope Lane, which happened at around 10.30pm on Saturday.
Police said a woman working on the till was injured during the raid and a quantity of money was taken.
A male member of staff was in a backroom at the time.
Ashton was remanded in custody by police and appeared before Chorley Magistrates’ Court yesterday, where the case was committed to Preston Crown Court for a plea and case management hearing on December 16.
He remains in custody.
