Search for stolen bike uncovers cannabis
Found: The cannabis plants
Around £10,000 of cannabis was discovered by police when they investigated reports of a stolen bicycle.
Officers executed a search warrant at a house in Halton Place, Ribbleton, Preston on Wednesday, February 20, at around 2pm.
A compactor machine, valued at £800 and a breaker power unit, valued at £2,500, were among the items seized.
Police then searched a second property in Kingfisher Street, Deepdale, Preston, where they discovered 25 cannabis plants.
A 31-year-old man arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis is now on police bail pending further enquiries.
Sgt Paul McLernon, from the neighbourhood policing team, said: “We executed the warrants after receiving information about a stolen bicycle.
“If we suspect that someone is involved in handling stolen property or drugs, we will take action.
“We recognise the impact these crimes have on the community and we are committed to doing all we can to bring offenders to justice. I would ask residents to work with us – report any suspicious activity and keep your property secure to help deter thieves.”
Officers are still investigating the stolen bicycle.
Anyone with any information about the white and black Scott Scale 50 mountain bike should contact police on 101.
