Police are appealing for witnesses after a 19-year-old man was hit on the head by a rock at a skate park in Morecambe.
The incident took place on February 26, between 3.30pm and 4.00pm at the outdoor skate park on Central Drive when the victim had been sat at the side of the park eating. A group of five youths have walked past between the skate park and Pleasureland arcade towards festival market when one of the group has deliberately thrown a three inch rock back towards the skate park.
It struck the victim on the top of his head causing a cut which required medical treatment.
The offender is described as being around 15-17 years old and was wearing a red jumper.
PC Andy Martin said: “The victim had been sat minding his own business enjoying a local facility when the unprovoked attack took place.
“An investigation is underway but I am keen to speak to any members of the group that were directly involved or any other persons who had been present in the area at the time and may be able to provide a description of the suspect.”
