Rock legends in their pub lunchtime

Drinkers did a double take when Jimi Hendrix and Kurt Cobain turned up for a jam session in a Preston pub.

The late rock legends were brought to life by the young stars of a new music video for Preston band The Uncomfortables.

The youngsters donned wigs, costumes and make-up to transform themselves into the musical heroes as cameras rolled at the Bitter Suite pub in Fylde Road.

Some of the legends in the line-up were played by children from Preston, with Ikey Zajac as Jimi Hendrix and Adam Thomas Wright, eight, as Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.

Adam's mum Patricia Carr-Wright, of Ashton, said: "I only had about three days to knit Adam a jumper like Kurt Cobain's but it turned out well. Adam has done bits and pieces of acting before and was in a Tesco advert for Christmas.

"The stuff he has done has been more staged. Doing the video, they let the kids have a bit more freedom.

"Adam really loved it."

The video, for the song Levi's Genes, was made by Preston-based production companies Kitsch Monkey and Wasp Video.

As well as promoting The Uncomfortables, who starred on MTV2 last year, the video will be used as a demo for the University of Central Lancashire's new music promo module on the film production course.

Krystal Gault, who directed and produced the video, said: "It has gone absolutely brilliantly so far.

"We did a scene where the kids had a food fight which will look amazing on camera."

Uncomfortables frontman Richard Lomax said: "It went really well, the kids seemed to enjoy filming."

The video will finish shooting this weekend at locations around Preston, including the Mitchell and Kenyon cinema at UCLan.

Levi's Genes is released in April.
