A reveller was hit over the head by a robber as he listened to music while walking home from a night out.
The victim was forced to cower on the floor, covering his head, as the robber kicked him. The thug then rifled through his pockets and stole £130 cash.
Detectives said the robbery happened at the junction of Broadgate and Winckley Road as the victim, a 30-year-old man, made his way home to Penwortham.
They are studying CCTV images which show a man in a dark hoodie and white or cream trousers gaining distance on the victim as he walks down Broadgate.
The robbery happened at 2.30am on June 8, after the man had enjoyed a night out with his family in the city.
Det Sgt John Crichton, of Preston CID, said: “The victim had been wearing headphones and listening to music when he was struck over the head.
“As he was trying to protect his head, he did not get a good look at the offender.
“When he was struck he fell to the ground and was kicked or hit about seven times.
“The man shouted: ‘Give me everything you have.’”
Anyone with information should call Preston Police on 101.
