Record bigwigs check out the sound of Mike

Record company representatives will be swooping on Preston to see if one talented teenager has the goods.

Mike Dignam will be performing in front of scouts from the Warner Group at the Venue on Sunday night.

The 18-year-old will then get the chance to showcase his talents at London's Barfly on October 31 in front of Sony, Columbia Records, BBC and Radio 1 industry representatives as part of Youth Music Week.

Mike, from Longton, has been song writing for almost five years. His folk and acoustic sound is inspired by artists including John Mayer and James Morrison.

Sunday night's gig at Preston's Venue on Lord's Walk kicks off at 7.30pm, with tickets costing 4.50 in advance or 5 on the door The night will also feature performances from Kristyna Myles and Joe De Luca.
