Police have re-appealed for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision on the Fylde Coast last month.
An 87-year-old woman from Preston was hospitalised following the incident on Saturday, August 11 at around 5.50pm on the A583 close to the Bell and Bottle pub near Kirkham.
A Landrover discovery travelling towards Blackpool and being driven by a local 43-year-old woman was involved in a collision with a Kia Picanto.
The front seat passenger in the Landrover, a 87-year-old woman from Preston, received serious injuries and is in a critical condition in hospital. The drivers of the vehicles were unhurt.
The road was closed for three hours to allow accident investigation work to take place and police are appealing for witnesses.
Sergeant Dave Hogarth from the Road Policing Unit said, “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and who witnessed the incident to come forward and contact the police.”
